The participants will have an opportunity to express their passion and interest in the professional areas of Hospitality, Culinary, and Business Management.
Participating students can choose to express their interest and creativity by choosing any one of the below-listed competition formats being offered:
The Budding Chef Competition 2025 theme is “Reviving Culinary Heritage of India”. Therefore the participants have to prepare a traditional Indian dish that is not very commonly seen or is lost with time or a nostalgic dish that will take us back in time.
Vedatya has nearly four acres of fruit and vegetable farms dedicated to serving fresh, healthy, and sustainable produce. The farming initiative provides a platform to engage our students with concepts like farm-to-fork and organic sustainability in culinary arts.
Ingredient Rules:
Participants need to bring ingredients on their own; however, basic ingredients will be provided by the institute if required.
Dish Requirements:
One main course to be prepared with accompaniments (Veg/Non Veg)
Two identical portions to be displayed for the jury members
Team:
1 Team per school with 2 members in a team
The Chef Competition finds an interesting setting at Vedatya, given the above – mentioned differentiators, enabling participants to simultaneously engage and learn as they showcase their talent. It is indeed a fantastic opportunity for all the students to demonstrate their skills, creativity, and passion for a potential culinary / hospitality pathway.
AD MAD SHOW is an ‘Advertisement Making Competition’ where School students showcase their creativity in marketing products and services. Its objective is to acquaint the students with promotional strategies in marketing through advertisements. It consists of humorous, conceptual ad presentations by the students.
Students will prepare and act out advertisement scripts and ideas relevant for different sectors, including FMCG products, services, automobiles, culture, heritage, and social awareness, etc. All the teams will be given a time frame to showcase their talent. The students would be required to be in a team of 2 to 4.
Each team will get a ‘client brief’ in real time through a draw of lots and will need to develop an advertising pitch real time.
The participants will need to build a basic business plan around a dream venture focused on a hospitality product/service. The plan will be expected to demonstrate feasibility and include aspects of marketing strategies, and financial forecasting for profitability. This competition is a group-based activity with a minimum of 2 to a maximum 4 participants per team. The pitch will be judged by industry experts/entrepreneurs.
The competition will have 2 stages.
Stage 1: This will be an elimination round. The teams will be given a window of 5 minutes in which they have to pitch their hospitality startup idea. Those teams that are selected will go through the next stage. This is what contestants will come prepared with, ready to present.
Stage 2: Top 10 teams will make it to this final round. The teams will have an hour to use feedback given in the 1st round to quickly revise, adapt their pitch and get ready for a final showdown. The timings for the presentation in the final round will be a 7-minute window and there will be a 3-minute question answer session.
The competition invites students to showcase their creativity and storytelling skills through digital media. A team of two Participants will create engaging reels in real time that capture service moments or Muqabla event-related content around the campus. The digital content should have a message that the contesting teams want to share. These reels will be shared on Instagram, and the winning team will be determined based on the quality of their content and the engagement it receives, including likes and shares. Students will participate in teams of two and be given 2 hours to make and edit their reel and 10 minutes for the presentation.
