Life Skills Program for College Freshmen heading Abroad
Program Highlights
Structured towards learners who are likely to head abroad for their higher education post 10+2
- It is structured to deliver life skills in the area of food preparation, inter-cultural sensitivity, basic housekeeping skills and international travel related preparedness
- Successful completion of this 5 day long program will prepare participants with respect to certain life skills that well be a must for them to transition as ‘university freshmen’ abroad
- The training be delivered at Vedatya campus, learners can also avail of hostel facility if required
- The training will be for duration of 5 days, the daily contact time will be 4 hours each day
Objectives and Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes from this program are as follows:
- Learner will understand basic cooking techniques and use of home kitchen like utensils and equipment to prepare healthy meals and snacks
- The objective of acquiring some basic hands on cooking skills will be to avoid over dependence on external sources for your dietary needs
- Learner will be able to ensure that his/her dorm room space is kept clean and hygienic through a daily/weekly spread of chores
- Recognize that there are socio-cultural differences that need to be understood and factored in with a sole intent to create respectful healthy working relationships with others coming from different cultures, nationality etc.
- Be prepared to handle the unexpected during international travel including any health situations
Assessment Methodology
The delivery team will deploy varied assessment tools through an ‘application’ orientation to ensure that the appropriate knowledge, skills transfer is validated.
Housekeeping Essentials
The Housekeeping module provides all the necessary inputs focused on aspects like personal hygiene, cleaning methods and room’s upkeep.

● Travel documents required and their safe keep, documents to present to immigration, customs, airline desk etc.
● Handling of common questions asked, handling baggage (check in/ in flight) and managing expected situations like flight delays, cancellation or missing connecting flights etc.

The range of options shared below are being offered to students from classes 11th and 12th to introduce them to contemporary themes that have the potential to be developed into career paths, and as a minimum provide value in terms of skills and knowledge required to enhance ‘life skills’ in general.
These Five-day programs are going to be facilitated at the Vedatya campus during June month from 5th to 9th June (10.30 am to 2.30 pm) when the schools are closed for Summer break. Students can sign up for only one theme/ track at a time

Explore Culinary Arts
Foundation Course in Culinary Arts
The short-term culinary Programme will allow you to work with professional chefs and one can feel the real test of working in a professional kitchen. This will help the participant to take their culinary passion to the next level. Having a world class culinary infrastructure that includes professional-grade kitchens, on-campus farms, a herb garden, a fish pond, and a dairy farm will enable the participants to explore their culinary potential and help them make a career choice.

Foundation Course in Bakery and Pastry Arts
This short-term internship course in Bakery will allow learners to showcase their creativity and passion for Baking. This short-term course takes you by the hand and teaches you the basics of bakery and pastry arts. All the sessions will have a live culinary workshop which ensures a complete learning cycle. The programme structure is apt for students who have a passion for bakery and would want to explore possible career opportunities in bakery and pastry arts.

The program will also allow students to understand the dynamic world of managing hospitality businesses & events.

User Experience Design is usually understood as the design of apps for mobile applications. However, app development is only one aspect of UX design. The actual UXD journey starts much before and encompasses many more aspects that build up to a final result that could be an app, a digital product, or any other product. This internship aims to expose students to appreciating user-centric design and problem-solving and apply the same to demonstrate results in a project of their choice.

Program Fee & Process of Registration
Rs. 5000/- plus GST will be charged as a Registration Fee for any theme as per the choice of candidate.
Boarding and Lodging will be arranged (if required) at the institute hostel with a charge of Rs. 8000/- per participant including meals and AC accommodation on twin sharing basis
