Visual Art has been an integral part of human creativity since prehistoric times. From cave paintings to sculptures and later on in the painting and other forms of expression, visual artists have always been at the forefront of creative pursuits. With the passage of time, visual artists have contributed to the commentary on socio-political and socio-economic concerns while leaving a deep impact on the socio-cultural landscape as well. Visual artists are also cultural ambassadors of countries. The Visual Arts & Culture Major at Vedatya will not only enable the study of visual arts but also train students to become capable professionals in the arts and culture industry. Throughout the study period, students will also have some of the fundamental business study courses being offered in parallel to design focused modules to build the ‘management’ aptitude of design professionals. Modules in the domain of marketing, finance, entrepreneurial capability, business strategy & leadership will allow the future visual artists to be equipped with not just creative potential but also business skills critically required for a successful career in the art and culture sector. Students will also learn to become creative managers in allied areas such as curatorial practice, art practice as well as learn how to successfully navigate the professional world of cultural industries.

The third and fourth year of study will focus on establishing the credentials of the student as a thorough design professional in the industry. They will work within their chosen Major and align a Minor subject that creates their career pathway. Coupled with intensive national and international internships, this will expose the student to the practical aspects of working in the industry. At the end of four years, students will be eligible for a Bachelor of Design degree, with a Major in Visual Arts & Culture and a Minor of their choice.
The program aims to transform individuals with a passion to work in the design space into professionals with a specialized industry focus ready to work in the rapidly evolving design industry in India. Through studying/ experimenting with design fundamentals and varied approaches, spending time in a design organization on a professional work placement – the students would gain academic understanding and practical knowledge of the issues involved in successful designing for chosen areas of specialization.

Terms and Conditions
A refundable programme security deposit of Rs. 15,000 is to be paid at the time of admission. This is fully refundable when the student completes the programme or for some reason when he/she leaves the programme
If a student leaves the program in the middle of an academic year, then he/she is liable to pay half the annual fee for the particular year
International trip opportunity can be availed at an extra cost as communicated closer to the departure date
Learning resources are provided/facilitated by the institute at extra cost
Fee Refund Policy
The registration fee is refundable only in case the candidate fails or does not meet the 50% marks requirement (in best 4 subjects) in class XII or equivalent exams. It will not be refunded under any other circumstances
In case a student fails to join the programme or withdraws from the programme after the course has started, then only the refundable security deposit will be refunded (after completing a no due clearance process)

Since the design majors also have business courses embedded in the curriculum and are designed around applied learning principles, the students are also well equipped to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.
The program offers internship opportunities starting from the end of year one itself and gradually increasing in engagement, till the final internship in the final year. This is coupled with a live project in a chosen area of specialization in year four for practical industry experience.
