GRADUATION: BACHELOR OF DESIGN

Our Visual Arts course distinguishes itself from other Bachelor of Fine Arts courses in Delhi by offering a significant advantage: a curriculum centered around choice-based learning. This approach provides students with unparalleled flexibility, allowing them to create a distinctive specialization by combining majors, minors, and electives of their choosing. This unique feature enables students to align their studies with their passion or follow current trends in the industry, setting our program apart from others in the field of visual arts.

Fine art institutes like National Institute of Fine arts, the School of Fine Arts in Delhi, and Delhi College of Fine Arts typically provide three-year art courses with restricted industry internships. In contrast, Vedatya’s Visual Arts & Culture program stands out by offering students five national and international internship opportunities within a four-year duration. This extended exposure enhances students’ industry knowledge and experience before they graduate.

Throughout the study period at our fine arts institute, students will also have some of the fundamental business study courses being offered in parallel to design focused modules to build the ‘management’ aptitude of design professionals. Modules in the domain of marketing, finance, entrepreneurial capability, business strategy & leadership will allow the future visual artists to be equipped with not just creative potential but also business skills critically required for a successful career in the art and culture sector.

The third and fourth year of study will focus on establishing the credentials of the student as a thorough design professional in the industry. They will work within their chosen Major and align a Minor subject that creates their career pathway. At the end of four years, students will be eligible for a Bachelor of Design degree, with a Major in Visual Arts & Culture and a Minor of their choice.

Vedatya’s Advantage

The program aims to transform individuals with a passion to work in the design space into professionals with a specialized industry focus ready to work in the rapidly evolving design industry in India. Through studying/ experimenting with design fundamentals and varied approaches, spending time in a design organization on a professional work placement – the students would gain academic understanding and practical knowledge of the issues involved in successful designing for chosen areas of specialization.

Our learning and teaching approach also helps students develop transferable skills such as teamwork and communication skills, which are essential in a personal as well as professional context.

Key elements and differentiators of the program are as follows.

Sustainable Design Focus.

“Making” 3D Lab and Prototyping Outsourced Center.

Experimenting Design ideas with on Campus Spaces.

Design for Live Campus Events.

Field Trips, Design Competition and Live Projects.

Industry Internships and Speakers.
