Communication

3 year full-time program (including 12 week internship or Live Project)

Degree awarded by IGNOU

School of Business Management offers the Programme in Mass Communication (PMC) which is a comprehensive programme that covers the knowledge and skills required in a wide range of mass communication domains like corporate business communication, public relations, print journalism, television journalism, advertising communications, electronic mass media etc.

The goal of the program is to enable students in understanding and developing the unique and much sought-after skills required for successfully functioning and managing communication and related business functions, an organizational unit, or a media enterprise.

This course will provide a learner with an appreciation of the theoretical issues involved in the study of ‘mass communication’ whilst also helping one to develop a range of practical skills with the help of our unique applied pedagogy to provide students with a deeper level of expertise within a particular discipline. The third year of study will commence with a 12 week Internship or Live Project.

This will expose the student to the opportunity to gain practical aspects of working in the chosen industry. They will therefore be able to make an informed decision about which area to choose as a career path.

The learners would have, over the duration of the programme, developed a wide range of skills and competencies that would allow them to build career paths in chosen sub-domains of the larger mass communication ecosystem.
