Vedatya Institute participated in Hospitality Quiz Bar Master (Feb 2022), an online national bar quiz competition organized by X Hospitality Events on 18th & 19th February 2022. The institute was represented by two of our final year Hospitality Management students, Kabir Kohli & Tarun Mour (both of PHML 2019 cohort). The event had several aspects where the students got an opportunity to interact with top bartenders, mixologists, and F&B Business leaders which helped them to gain insights into the current trends that are prevalent in the beverage world. The students had the opportunity to create their own cocktail or mocktail and post it on social media platforms.

 

The quiz saw participation from the 16 top Hospitality Management institutes (Pan India), namely, IHMCT Bhopal, IIHM Bengaluru, IHMCT Bhubaneshwar, Army Institute of Hotel Management, Bengaluru, SRM University Chennai, IHMCT Hamirpur, IHMCT Mumbai, IHMCT Ahmedabad, IHMCT Shimla, NSHM Durgapur, Amrapali Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology Haldwani,  Magarpatta Institute of Hospitality Management, Pune, Symbiosis Pune, St. Joseph Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology Tiruchirappalli & Vedatya Institute Gurugram. The teams were divided in two groups (Group A & Group B), we were part of Group B. 

 

The quiz was divided into three rounds for both groups and only two teams (one from each group) would have qualified for the finals which were scheduled for 19th February 2022. Vedatya Institute had its first competition with NSHM Durgapur and both Tarun & Kabir did a splendid performance and we qualified for Round 2. The second round was quite a close one as we were up against IHMCT Ahmedabad but both our students held their nerves and beat them to qualify for Round 3. The semifinal (Round 3) was a one-sided affair as our boys beat IHMCT Bhopal by a good margin and qualified for the finals. Vedatya Institute’s competition in the finals was against the Army Institute of Hotel Management Bengaluru. Tarun & Kabir displayed good spirit and fought it till the end but we lost the finals by a very narrow margin. Vedatya students were declared as Runners Up.

 

The students did their best and we are proud to say that both the boys did extremely well to take the institute to the finals at a national level in the Hospitality Quiz Bar Master (Feb ’22).
