The program aims at providing an in depth knowledge and understanding towards planning and implementation of a successful event. The modules are designed to equip the student with thorough insight of all the related elements which essentially shape the outcome of an event.

The program will focus on the operational, as well as the nonoperational facets. Aspects like project management, market research; promotional techniques, financial analysis, hospitality operational elements, implementation, and event’s critical evaluation will be embedded in the curriculum. The program is focused on learners with an aspiration to become an ‘Event Manager’.

The focus on the IT component of creative capacity would be limited to basic knowledge, as learning the specific IT tools is a specialized field in itself. The programme will be delivered through a modular format, that will ensure that a student successfully completing the course would have developed all required competencies and skills that would be required by the industry. The events management business is managed through specialized functions enlisted:

Client Services: Business development, communication, and relationship management

Operations: Implementing events by drawing from the creative capacity through planned, strategic approach

Creative Capacity: This is about idea generation, use of technology and innovation

Strategic Thinking & Financial decision making: Ensuring that each event supports the profit and other organizational objectives

The program will ensure that the intended learning outcomes are clearly linked with the above-mentioned functions and help learners to develop into sound, well-trained ‘Event Managers’.

Eligibility and Admission Criteria

Class 12 of the Indian School System with a minimum 50% (in best 4 subjects) in CBSE, ICSE or equivalent accreditation. (Given the cancellation of class 12th board exams, we are processing all applicants based on their pre-board results.)

Test to establish aptitude and an interview will be conducted

Selection is based on personal interview and aptitude test

A candidate can either fill the online application form or download it from the website and send the duly filled application form to the address mentioned on the form along with a draft of Rs.1500 drawn in the favour of “Umak Educational Trust” payable at Gurugram. Candidate can also obtain the application form from the Institute’s Admission Office by depositing Rs.1500 in cash

Program Details:

Semester 1

The first semester will be focusing on building the foundation of the students to understand the basic functionalities of the events industry which cuts across various domains within this vast industry. The learning outcomes of the semester encompasses and prepares the students to illustrate on the important elements of project management which is an essential while the event is in the planning stages. Food and beverage being a very vital part of any event needs special mention, hence with the same understanding we have incorporated the basics of F&B as a part of the semester which will help the students to ideate menus in an event. Last but not the least, the event needs to be marketed in order to spread the word with in its target markets, hence the basics of event marketing has been covered in the semester.

Semester 2

The second semester covers other functionalities of event management by incorporating the basics of event finance, as this becomes a key notable area, as this is a very essential skill required for making financial decisions pertaining to the event. The semester has inputs on the logistics where in the student will understand about venue management along with the vendor management. The student has a choice to choose from three different event tracks which will be offered in this semester as per their interests which will help them to develop expertise in their interest areas. The three tracks that are being offered are as follows:

Meetings, Incentive, Conferences & Events

Wedding & Social Events

Sports & Entertainment Events

The above modules will certainly help the students to gain an insight into the skills and knowledge required in the events industry and gives them a competitive edge to reach the pinnacle of the industry.

Semester 3

The last semester gives an opportunity to use the knowledge gathered over the two semesters through an internship with an events company or if the students is already engaged in some other assignment, then they have the flexibility to submit a project report without compromising on their existing assignment.

Terms and Conditions

A refundable programme security deposit of Rs. 15,000 is to be paid at the time of admission. This is fully refundable when the student completes the programme or for some reason when he/she leaves the programme

Any taxes as applicable by law are not included in fees and will be charged additionally

 

Fee Refund Policy

In case a student fails to join the programme or withdraws from the programme after the course has started, then only the refundable security deposit will be refunded (after completing a no due clearance process)
