About the Course

The traineeship programme in hospitality skills is an initiative by Vedatya to bridge the gap between industry's requirement for supervisory level employees and the existing skilled manpower. It does so by providing the essential blend of theory with practical exposure to ensure a successful career in four skills - "Culinary Operations", "F&B Service Operations", "Front Office Operations", "Housekeeping Operations".

The programme duration is for a total of 6 months in two phases. The first phase is a full-time academic delivery on Vedatya's campus and the second phase is delivered in a "work-study" mode where the students work with an industry partner during the week as trainees and study one day a week at Vedatya.

This programme is ideally suited for candidates who aspire to work in the hotel and restaurant sector at a supervisor level. Students who complete the programme are awarded a certificate by "Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council", an entity under the government of India's skilling initiative, and another certificate by Vedatya.

Program Structure

The skill specific programme structures are as follows.

Skill | Traineeship Programme in Culinary Operations

The programme provides a platform for passionate individuals to hone their culinary skills and acts as a stepping stone for budding chefs who wants to advance their career in the vibrant sphere of culinary arts.

The first phase of 2 months will involve intensive training in kitchen operations. This phase will build capacity to work as a trainee in kitchen operation and will include inputs on key tasks, knowledge, and skills as per weekly delivery plan. This training plan and specified content is as per the Tourism and Hospitality Skills Council's (THSC) specifications for the Multi Cuisine Cook Qualification. The learners will receive appropriate certification to that effect from THSC post completion of their assessment.

The second phase of the program is structured to allow the learner's to work in a commercial kitchen for 24 weeks (working 5 days a week) as a trainee. A specified 'stipend' will be paid to the trainee by the employer. The employer will monitor performance of the trainee and will issue a certificate of training along with a structured appraisal of performance.

During the course of the on the job training, the trainees will attend 'one day a week' sessions at Vedatya to cover advanced curriculum. The curriculum, comprising of 'four' modules, will be delivered at Vedatya's campus. The focus of the advanced modules is to supplement the on-the-job training-related learning with concepts that will allow the trainees to develop skills and knowledge required to supervise a 'Kitchen' operation.

Skill | Traineeship Programme in F&B Service Operations

The F&B Operations program is equipped to build skills and knowledge in the areas of food, beverage and restaurant operations. The program is spread over two phases with an appropriate combination of theory and practical experience. The first phase will build capacity to work as a trainee in F&B Service operation. It will include inputs on key tasks, knowledge and skills required to succeed in the F&B domain of hospitality businesses.

The second phase of the program is structured to allow learners to work in an F&B Service operation for 18 weeks (working 5 days a week) as a trainee steward. A specified 'stipend' will be paid to the trainee by the employer. The employer will monitor performance of the trainee and will issue a certificate of training along with a structured appraisal of performance.

During the course of the on the job training, the trainees will attend 'one day a week' sessions at Vedatya to cover the advanced curriculum. The curriculum comprising of 'four' modules will be delivered at Vedatya's campus. The focus of the modules is to supplement the on-the-job training-related learning with concepts that will allow the trainees to develop skills and knowledge required to supervise restaurant's front end.

This training plan and specified content is as per the Tourism and Hospitality Skills Council's (THSC) specifications for the F&B Steward Qualification. The learners will receive appropriate certification from THSC post completion of their assessment.

Skill | Traineeship Programme in Front Office Operations

The Front Office operations Training Program is a 6 month program specializing in the core discipline of Front Office operations. The purpose of this program is to develop a trained customer oriented front office personnel, trained to deliver exceptional service.

The program is divided in two phases, where, the first phase of the program will last for 6 weeks and will involve intensive training in Front Office Skills. It will build capacity to work as a trainee in a hotel's front office operation and will include inputs on key tasks, knowledge, and skills as per the weekly delivery plan.

The second phase of the program is structured to allow learners to work in a front office operation for 18 weeks (working 5 days a week) as a trainee. A specified 'stipend' will be paid to the trainee by the employer. The employer will monitor performance of the trainee and will issue a certificate of training along with a structured appraisal of performance.

During the course of the on the job training, the trainees will attend 'one day a week' sessions at Vedatya to cover the advanced curriculum. The curriculum, comprising of 'four' modules, will be delivered at Vedatya's campus. The focus of the modules is to supplement the on-the-job training-related learning with concepts that will allow the trainees to develop skills and knowledge required to independently manage the front office operations.

This training plan and specified content is as per the Tourism and Hospitality Skills Council's (THSC) specifications for the Front Office Assistant Qualification. The learners will receive appropriate certification from THSC post completion of their assessment.

Skill | Traineeship Programme in Housekeeping Operations

The Housekeeping operations training Program is a 6 month program which focuses on industry specific knowledge and skills development. The program is divided in two phases where the first phase will last for 6 weeks and will involve intensive training in Housekeeping Skills. It will build capacity to work as a trainee in a hotel's housekeeping operation and will include inputs on key tasks, knowledge, and skills as per weekly delivery plan. This training plan and specified content is aligned with Tourism and Hospitality Skills Council's (THSC) specifications for the Housekeeping Room Boy/Assistant Qualification. The learners will receive appropriate certification to that effect.

The second phase of the program is structured to allow learner's to work in a housekeeping operation for 18 weeks (working 5 days a week) as a trainee. A specified 'stipend' will be paid to the trainee by the employer. The employer will monitor performance of the trainee and will issue a certificate of training along with a structured appraisal of performance.

During the course of the on the job training, the trainees will attend 'one day a week' sessions at Vedatya to cover the advanced curriculum. The curriculum, comprising of 'four' modules, will be delivered at Vedatya's campus. The focus of the advanced modules is to supplement the on-the-job training-related learning with concepts that will allow the trainees to develop skills and knowledge required to independently manage front office shift.

Eligibility

  • Class 10th pass
  • Passion to excel at work and build a career
  • A candidate can either fill online application form or download it from the website and send the duly filled application form to the address mentioned on the form along with the application fee draft drawn in the favour of "Umak Educational Trust" payable at Gurugram. Candidate can also obtain the application form from the Institute's Admission Office by depositing the application fee in cash
  • Selection is based on personal interview and written test

Fee Structure

  • Phase 1 fee of Rs. 2,000 (inclusive of all taxes) is payable at the beginning of the course. Successful completion of this phase will lead to the THSC certificate
  • Phase 2 fee of Rs. 50,000 (inclusive of all taxes) is payable at the beginning of this phase. Successful completion of this phase will lead to the Vedatya's certificate

Note

  • First installment is payable as per the date communicated in the offer letter

Terms & Conditions

  • A refundable programme security deposit of Rs. 15,000 is to be paid at the time of admission. This is fully refundable when the student completes the programme or for some reason when he/she leaves the programme
  • If a student leaves the program in the middle of an academic year, then he/she is liable to pay half the annual fee for the particular year
  • A one-time charge of Rs. 12,000 (inclusive of taxes) is payable before the programme's commencement towards a uniform and culinary kit
  • Any taxes as applicable by law are not included in fees and will be charged additionally
  • International trip opportunity can be availed at an extra cost as communicated closer to the departure date
  • Learning resources are provided/facilitated by the institute

Fee Refund Policy

  • Fee once paid is not refundable except the security deposit
